Love the cashew cream recipe ~ It's so simple!
So simple yet looks delicious! Can't wait to make this.
Yummy!
Can you exchange the walnuts for another nut?
Hi J. Simmons. Sure. Any nut would go well, and if you'd like to save a bit on cost, sunflower seeds could probably be substituted for some or all of the nuts.
I can't wait to try this!! It looks so delicious.
This is my go to Taco Salad recipe !!!!
Its Fantastic !!!!
Do you have to soak the cashews first?
I used a very scant 1/2 tsp of salt in the walnut meat and found it way too salty. Next time I will start with 1/8 tsp and add more if needed. The cashew cream is so easy and so delicious!
This is my favorite taco salad. Thanks for sharing!
Wow!!! Does this really taste like taco salad? I love taco salad and would definitely give this a whirl. I've gotta buy your book, Lisa!!! I am making myself hungry just looking at your delicious recipes!!!
It does taste like taco salad, Charity! … just slightly different because it's raw. If you make it, let me know how you like it!
I haven't made this yet, but I plan on doing it this weekend. Yum!
Just a question, it seems like a lot of the recipes have what some people may consider a lot of fat. Does it matter how much fat is in each meal because the fat comes from nuts (and other whole foods)? When eating raw, would someone who wants to lose weight ever count calories? I'm so curious about this. 🙂
Charity, there is a lot of fat in this and some of my other recipes and in most "gourmet raw" recipes. This isn't really something I'd eat every day and most people wouldn't. But, "peel and eat three bananas" isn't a very interesting recipe. And yes, counting calories, imo, is important for weight loss .. it's what I struggle with whether raw or cooked lol.
