This
received rave reviews today. The bread was about the best raw bread
I’ve ever had and it seemed very much like a really good … well,
bread. It has to be just right, though. Dehydrated enough to be done,
but not too crisp.

Mix
together the ground flax seeds and water. Let sit for several minutes
to gel. Slice the onions very thinly and grate the carrots (I used the
food processor for both). Stir together and add the olive oil and salt. Spread out on
lined dehydrator sheets and dehydrate for about an hour. When it top is a
bit dry to the touch, flip and continue drying on the other side. Let
dry another couple hours until dry but not brittle. I used kitchen
scissors to cut the bread into shapes.

Add some tomatoes, onion, and lettuce, and a dollop of cashew mayo.
To make the mayo, use a bullet type blender. Puree all ingredients until smooth and creamy.

That looks divine especially for raw food 🙂
It really doesn't seem like raw bread …
Whoops, I just made the bread part, but in the instructions it didn't mention the olive oil so I forgot it! :-/ Will it be ok?! LOL
Hi Kristan … How did it turn out? It will probably be fine, only a little drier.
Oh, and I edited that to make sure it's clear when to add the oil. Thanks for pointing that out 🙂
do you have a recipe for the bread? 🙂
Uh…this is the recipe for the bread. Its what was listed on the top
1 cup ground flax seeds ($.50)
1 cup water
3 medium onions, thinly sliced ($.30)
2 large carrots, grated ($.40)
1 teaspoon salt
3 tablespoons olive oil ($.30)
Thanks!!
It taste great. Id don't have dehydrator, so I used coventional owen. It took too long, but it dried out. I guess, it's time to get one now.
Lisa, the bread was truly awesome! I made it this morning and just posted it on my blog with photos. Love your recipes girl!
Thank you Rocki!! 🙂
So what heat do you use on the dehydrator? Mine's been going all day and the bread is still pretty wet…
I have to say this is the best raw bread I have ever eaten or made. Thanks so much for sharing it with us.
Colorful food is always healthy specially tomatoes
My mouth is watering. This looks great thanks heaps
I just made this for dinner tonight and OMG it was AMAZING!!! It was the perfect blend of sweet and savory. I added fresh garlic cloves to both bread and mayo and it just took the recipe to the next level. I also used fresh avocado and baby kale along with the tomatoes.
I can't thank you enough and now that I've found your site I will be using it almost everyday.
Aww, thanks Cat!! Glad you find it helpful 🙂
I have to go easy on the oil. Has anyone tried this recipe without the olive oil?
