Watermelon Slushies ~ a Raw and Vegan Recipe for Kids!
This recipe can be done in much less time simply by planning ahead
and freezing chunks of watermelon. Just whir them up in a blender with
the remaining ingredients, and you’ve got nearly instant watermelon
slushies.
However, we weren’t thinking that far ahead. It’s quite possible
that’s because our brains melted from the heat. Seriously, is it hot
enough for ya? Whew. Either way, watermelon slushies will cool you down! See the recipe below, and there’s also a video!
ingredients
- 4 cups watermelon, chopped ($1.50)
- 2 limes, juiced ($1.00)
- 2 tablespoons agave (optional)
- a dash of stevia (optional)
Puree
all ingredients in a blender until smooth. Chill until very cool and
starting to freeze, which will take about three hours. Process in an ice
cream machine until frosty and similar in texture to a snow cone.
oooh that looks so refreshing! and i love the color!
Yes, it's definitely hot enough for me. Too bad I just ate all of my watermelon by itself, in one day.
We've been going through about two watermelons a day around here lately!
Yum! We've been going DIY popsicle crazy over here with green smoothies and choco-nana soft serve. The only real benefit of this unbelievable heat. Looks like we've got relief on the way. Hope you cool off soon as well.
That is really a nice way to have a new recipe out of watermelons. Want to try it also here.
